ADOPTION APPLICATION
ADOPTIONS PROCESS
The first step is filling out our adoption application. Once we receive your application, one of our volunteers will be in touch.
The adoption process involves:
- A review of your application
- A home visit by one of our volunteers
- Discussion on which beagle may be a good match for your family
- Adoption
The average length of time from application through adoption is 4-to-6 weeks. The more open you are to age, color, gender, physical condition or beagle mixes, the higher the likelihood we can find a match for you.
FEES
Our adoption fees are based on the age and health of the dog. Our special needs adoption fee depends on the health and/or behavioral issues of the dog and is based on a sliding scale. Adoption fees are non-negotiable.
- 0-11 months: $350
- 1-4 years: $300
- 5-8 years: $250
- 9-10 years: $150
- 11+ years: $100
- Special needs adoption fee based on sliding scale
Adoptions taking place out of our Southern Arizona service area may incur additional fees.
All proceeds are used to offset spay/neuter fees, immunizations and any other medical treatments for the dogs in our care. Adoption fees don't always cover SoAZBR’s cost to get a dog ready for adoption; we rely on donations to cover the rest!

SoAZBR depends on donations to save and heal the dogs we bring into our care. As an all volunteer organization with no administrative overhead, 100 percent of every donation received goes to the medical care of dogs.
